Introduction:
Held in the small community setting of Markstay-Warren, the Challenge the Champ Sled Dog Race is an opportunity to meet and compete against world class dog racers like Lou Serre. Lou is one of the most decorated ISDRA medalist ever and our community is very proud of him. Come out and "Challenge the Champ" . The results show that there were more than one Champ on at our race since inception. Either way, you are guaranteed a good time, great trail and experiences not soon forgotten.
Goal:
The Challenge the Champ race aim is to host a world class event and showcase the striking municipality of Markstay-Warren. The organizers and sponsors of this event are working together to ensure that the race is enjoyable, encouraging and above all, exciting.
Both local mushers and mushers from abroad are encouraged to attend and take part in a race that offers:
- $12,000.00 CDN in prize money
- Open and Purebred classes
- 12 mile open class
- ISDRA points and grouping
- Professionally groomed trail
Event Information:
-Vets will be on site for any concerns mushers may have.
-There will be a driver's meeting on Friday night where the musher meet and bib draw will take place. Food and beverages will be available.
-All ISDRA rules will be in effect with the possibility of drug testing.
If you get hungry, there is breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the hall at the arena. All proceeds go to the Markstay-Warren Sled Dog Committee and the Warren Agricultural Society. If that does not suit your fancy, we have restaurants in the vicinity with great home cooked meals.
